We will have some short form, simple but direct content coming out soon - modeled directly after some videos that Jimmy Ray did for our SMB group a number of years back. I wanted to embed a few samples here along with the view counts as of this posting...it blew my socks off.

Universal Power over Ethernet

UPoE, or Universal Power over Ethernet, is the latest innovation from Cisco with broad, positive implications for many enterprise operations. We are not new at this. Cisco has been pushing the standards since 2000 for the incorporation of electrical power running on the same cable as data. UPoE is a big milestone as we can now consolidate 60 watts on a single CAT5E cable.

The flexibility that this enables cannot be overstated. Multiple third party vendors are jumping into the ecosystem here as dynamic environments using Virtual Desktops with integrated monitors, IP Turret systems for trading floors, not to mention building management, physical security and host of networking devices such as AP’s and compact switches that are often installed in very obscure locations.

The Catalyst 4500E is the initial beneficiary of this industry first for Cisco and this episode of TechWiseTV covers not just the use case and deployment examples as we go hands on with the big switch, but also a unique deep dive into understanding just how this works. India: Safety and Security in the Crosshairs

It was just about a year ago where we worked a project that has never officially seen the light of day. The following video is a fantastic example of taking direction - we were asked to focus our story on the unique situation India faces on a regular basis when it comes to tourism. At the time this was completed, the target release was to be timed along with the upcoming Commonwealth games where security was increasingly tight of course. We got great access to news footage, government officials and a wealth of storylines. At the end of the day however, agreement could never be gained on releasing it in country as planned for the emotional level of the video was coming across too strong. Its a shame really - this is a beautifully done story and our personal goals for making sue this was not a typical corporate video were met quite well I think. The producer to credit for this is our good friend Steffan Schulz from Strange Media. In fact, I believe this 11 day field shoot may have also been his first experience with shooting on an SLR. Not his at the time...but now Steffan has gone on to make awesome stuff with his new Canon 5D.
